Legion Brewing Company
According to Charlotte Magazine, Legion holds the title of the best neighborhood brewery. With locations in both the Plaza Midwood and Southpark neighborhoods and another set to open in Queen City, this brewery emerged back in November 2017.
The Plaza Midwood taproom spans about 3,000 square feet, and it overlooks a brewhouse which is used to host special events. The one in SouthPark boasts 4,000 square feet of area, along with 2,000 square feet of space for holding private events.
Legion’s Signature Brews
At the heart of the Plaza Midwood building, you’ll find 30 barrels that serve the purpose of aging the brews. The main bar is comprised of 31 taps, which dispense Legion-created wine as well as beer. Juicy Jay, Project Pils, and Sparkle Party are some of the popular potables.
Legion also offers a bar featuring cocktails from local distilleries like Topo, Doc Porter’s, and Great Wagon Road. Aside from these adult beverages, their offerings also include non-alcoholic drinks such as Cheerwine, Sundrop, and kombucha. You can even get a regular coffee and tea, if that’s something you fancy during colder nights.
Dining at Legion
The menu includes food items such as roasted chicken, steak, pizzas, catfish filet, and pretzels. You can enjoy your meal and beverages indoors, or you can go out in the beer garden spanning 2,500 square feet. It features picnic tables, benches, and a deck. If you’re planning on hosting a private party or an event, Legion Brewing offers three different rooms which can accommodate anywhere between 80-150 people.
However, that’s not what makes Plaza Midwood stand out from the other locations – it’s the cozy ambiance. As for the hours, it stays open throughout the week but the hours vary. It is located some 6 miles from All Seasons Window & Door Co., which makes for a short 13-minute drive.
